D-A-D To Play Special Christmas Concert
December 9, 2007Danish rockers D-A-D have issued the following update:
"D-A-D is this year's Christmas gift from Danish P3 to the listeners. On December 20th the band will play an exclusive concert directly in P3 radio. The concert is to be broadcast from the DR Byen, where the band will play songs chosen by P3 listeners.
"The show — 'Hjem Til Jul' — with Felix Schmidt and Christina Høier as hosts, will for the two weeks up to the concert, offer the exclusive tickets in a lottery and give fans and others the opportunity to decide which songs the band will play.
"You can choose a forgotten tune from the early years, one of the many fantastic hits or just a song bringing back special memories. In other words the choice is free on all shelves as long as there is a really good reason why this very number will blast out of the speakers all around the country, at best air time on December 20th.
"So all D-A-D fans need to go finding anecdotes and stories if they hope to be present when the band plays the first concert in a long time in Denmark."
D-A-D earlier in the year entered a Copenhagen studio to record 14 songs for the group's new studio album.
D-A-D's "Scare Yourself Alive" CD/DVD was released in May 2006 via EMI. The package features memorable moments from the band's "Scare Yourself Alive" tour, including footage from Roskilde and additional material from the November 2005 show at the KB Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark.
D-A-D last year completed work on the third video from "Scare Yourself" album. The clip, for the song "Lawrence of Suburbia", marked the first time the band have used a fully animated video for one of their tracks since "ZCMI" from the 1989 album "No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims".
The group's ninth studio album, "Scare Yourself" topped the album chart in Denmark upon its release in May 2005.
